Opuntia, commonly called prickly pear or pear cactus, is a genus of flowering plants in the cactus family Cactaceae.

Sunlight
Full sun or atleast 4 hours of direct sunlight. Semi shade with at least one hour of sunlight per day. Bright indirect sunlight / also survives in dark corners of the room with just one or two hours of sunlight twice a week.

Water twice a week only when the soil is completely dry.
Fertilizing
Fertilize with a spoon of compost once in a month for proper growth
Repotting
Repot only after ten days of receiving the plant so that it will adapt itself to the new situation and climate.
